Dear Friends,
     We are grateful for your vital part in our ministry in Rio Bravo.  Thank you for your prayers and financial support.  We are also thankful for the special offerings and letters of encouragement.
     The week before Easter we held our Spring Vacation Bible School.  We praise the Lord for the 55 children who attended and for the 12 workers who helped.  We also praise the Lord for the 7 children who made professions of faith.  One of those was a 10 year old girl who was visiting relatives in Rio Bravo.  She told us that a few years ago some missionaries came to her village and held a Vacation Bible School but at that time she did not understand her need of accepting Christ as her Savior. She was sad she could not continue attending our church but was eager to go back home and share the gospel with her family.
     Our Easter Sunrise service was a blessing.  The church building was filled to capacity.  The teens presented a drama in front of a huge mural of the empty tomb.  Heather wrote the drama and helped the young people learn the song "Were You There" in Spanish.
     On April 30, we celebrated "Día de Los Niños" (Children's Day).  The ladies of the church prepared a meal for the children, who all received a small gift as they left.  We are thankful for the opportunity we have to work with these precious children.  Many of them come to church on our church van every Sunday morning and evening and also come to Bible club on Wednesday evenings.  Some of these children have been riding the van faithfully for four years.  Just recently, 3 of these children, Miguel, Lizbeth and Kenita, made professions of faith in their Sunday school classes.  We continue to try to reach their parents, but many of them are not interested in spiritual things.  Pray with us for these children and their families.
     In May, we celebrated Mother's Day.  Irma, a young lady who drives the church van, personally invited the mothers of each of the children.  We had a good turn out, and several of the mothers came on the church van with their children.  The teens presented a special program, and one of our young men brought a message from God's Word.
     Please continue to pray with us about the piece of property and building that we are interested in purchasing in Rio Bravo.  We are grateful for the $5,000.00 that has been given to our building fund since our last prayer letter.  We are excited that a church group from North Carolina has already promised to come and help us renovate the building once the property is purchased!  Pray that God will provide the additional $11,000.00 that is needed.  Thank you to those of you who have increased your monthly giving.  Please continue praying for the additional financial support that we still need.
     We ask that you pray for Heather as she will be leaving for China on July 4, traveling with a group of students and faculty from 5 different Christian colleges.  Pray that God will use them in a special way as they teach English to Chinese students.
